Osteopathy is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy. The goal of Osteopathic treatment is to restore health to an area by removing restrictions in all layers of tissue, as Osteopathy addresses the function of muscles, joints, nerves, blood vessels, and lymphatics. By removing restrictions, the body is better able to make use of its self-healing and self-regulating systems.

Osteopathic care has been found to be helpful for people of all ages with all types of health concerns, including: musculoskeletal issues, spinal health, traumatic injury, digestive irregularity, sleep problems, reproductive issues, respiratory health, and migraines.

Physiotherapists are primary health care providers with an important role in health promotion and the treatment of acute and chronic conditions. They have a thorough understanding of how the body works and the mechanics required to keep it functioning optimally. During your appointment, your physio will use their expert knowledge in combination with hands on clinical assessment techniques to assess, diagnose and treat your symptoms. We offer a manual therapy approach, as well as Functional dry needling (IMS) and rehab exercises.

Danielle graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in 2020 and has been in private practice since 2018. She is a member of OSTCAN BC and is excited to be serving the greater community of Vancouver Island, where she was born and raised.

Along her own journey to health after multiple sports-related injuries, Danielle sought conventional modalities of healing but found that she was not experiencing any lasting effects. Upon seeing an Osteopathic practitioner for the first time, she was fascinated by the balanced and gentle approach and was pleased that the results held for the long term. This success in healing inspired her to pursue her education in Osteopathy at the country’s foremost school, based in Hamilton, Ontario, where she underwent a rigorous four-year program with no less than 4,200 hours of education and hands-on training.

Rebekka graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2007. Following graduation, she moved to northern BC and worked with a wonderful rehab team in hospital, care home, and community settings. While taking an extended maternity leave (4 babies in 5 years!), Rebekka became passionate about perinatal care, and began to pursue training in pelvic floor physiotherapy.

Through her career, Rebekka has prioritized developing a safe, comfortable and respectful rapport with her patients. She truly feels it is a privilege to be part of each patient’s journey toward improved wellness, confidence, and quality of life. Rebekka uses manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription and education to address urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, and other pelvic floor concerns for women who are prenatal, post-menopausal, or anywhere in between.

Her physiotherapy career started in general orthopaedics, but has evolved along with her passion for advancing women’s health.
